People In Wake County, North Carolina Are Investing This Much To Create A Kitchen They’ll Love Making Memories (And Food) In
We’re so glad you’re looking up the cost to remodel a kitchen! Kitchens are one of, if not the, most important places in a home, and we want you to love yours.
In this post, you’ll discover how much a kitchen remodel costs and the main factors that can cause it to change. You can also find some questions people consider before looking at costs.
Our Kitchen Needs Work
“Thank you! I’ve been saying that for months,” says Crystal.
Will nods, mouth forming a thin line. “It’s too small, doesn’t have enough storage space, the wood stains make it seem too dark, and it just doesn’t work for us anymore.”
“Preach, hon. I’m also a little embarrassed to have our friends over, and the kid’s friends too. It’d be nice to have a cool kitchen we can all hang out in,” points out Crystal.
Will takes his phone out. “Then let’s look at how much a kitchen remodel costs. We need to do something about this while we’re motivated. Don’t want it to fall to the side like the other home projects.”
“We should also look at the kitchen remodeling service page some contractors have,” suggests Crystal. Will nods, saying “How about after we look at cost and some other things?” Crystal nods in agreement and starts helping Will look through Google.
Here’s what the couple finds out:
What People Consider Before Remodeling Their Kitchen
- Do I need this or do I want this?
- How will this impact my family during and after the remodeling process?
- What am I hoping the end result will be?
- Will the layout change?
- What kind of cabinets do I want?
- Do I need new cabinets?
- Would I prefer granite or quartz countertops?
- Will my floors need to be refinished or will I need new ones?
- Can I reuse my existing appliances?
- How would I like to change the lighting configuration?

The Main Cost Factors That Change The Cost To Remodel A Kitchen
Size. Bigger kitchens cost more because it takes more labor, time, and materials to remodel them. Your smaller kitchens can still be pricey. It depends on the other factors listed below.
Material choice. Do you want the Mercedes or Hyundai of countertops, cabinets, etc? They’ll basically do the same thing but they look different and can create a different atmosphere in your kitchen. They also have different costs. Cabinets and countertops tend to impact cost the most.
Age. Older kitchens usually need more work done to fit a client’s new vision. This often centers around reworking and/or updating electrical and plumbing elements.
Damages. It’s not uncommon to find damages like wood rot and water damage when remodeling kitchens. If we find any damages, we’ll contact you and discuss next steps. We recommend fixing them first so they don’t get worse and become more costly to fix.
Job complexity. This includes size, age, damages, and more. The harder your kitchen remodel is to do the higher the cost will be. For example, knocking down walls to create an open-concept kitchen makes projects more complex and thus costly.
